[08-22-2026] Shasta County, CA – Woman Killed, Two Injured in Crash Involving Motorcycle and Vehicle in Redding.webpA woman was killed, and two other people sustained injuries in a motorcycle and vehicle collision in Redding on Saturday afternoon, August 22, 2026.

According to the Redding Police Department, officers responded to the incident at around 2:25 p.m. on Canyon Road and Valley View Drive.

Investigators said the male motorcyclist was traveling on Canyon Road when he crossed the double yellow lines while attempting to pass another vehicle. The motorcycle then collided with a vehicle while turning into a residential driveway.

The motorcyclist suffered moderate injuries and was transported to a local hospital. His female passenger sustained major injuries and was later pronounced dead. Authorities did not immediately release her identity.

An occupant of the other vehicle was transported to Dignity Health Mercy Medical Center with apparent minor injuries.

Police said alcohol and drugs did not appear to be factors in the collision.

The investigation remains ongoing.
