A man sustained multiple injuries after being attacked by two pit bulls in Barstow on Wednesday night, August 20, 2025.
According to the Barstow Police Department, officers responded at about 8:39 p.m. to the 200 block of North 3rd Avenue following reports of a dog bite incident.
Authorities said the dogs inflicted several lacerations on the victim’s leg. Witnesses told officers that the animals had been a recurring issue in the neighborhood.
Investigators identified the dog’s owner as 37-year-old Nadine S. of Barstow. She was arrested for failing to control her dogs, resulting in injury, and booked into the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto on suspicion of violating Penal Code 399(b).
The two pit bulls were seized and transported to the Barstow Humane Society for quarantine.
The investigation is ongoing.
