A worker was left with moderate injuries after the vehicle they were in was struck by a car along Interstate 205 in Tracy late Monday night, August 19, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. in an active construction zone on the westbound side of the freeway near El Rancho Road.
Officers reported that a car crashed into a pickup truck with a bucket in the back. A worker was inside the bucket at the time of the crash.
Preliminary investigation suggests that the car, driven by an 18-year-old resident of Sonora, was attempting to change lanes when it collided with the pickup truck.
The driver of the car suffered major injuries, while the worker, a 27-year-old resident of Stockton, sustained moderate injuries.
