A 71-year-old woman was killed in a collision involving a semi-truck and a pickup truck in Adelanto on Tuesday morning, August 18, 2026.
According to the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station, the collision was reported around 7:37 a.m. on Palmdale Road, also known as State Route 18, east of Richardson Street.
Investigators said a 60-year-old man was driving a semi-truck eastbound when he lost control and crossed into the westbound lane. The semi-truck then collided with a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado.
The 71-year-old woman driving the Silverado was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities did not immediately release her identity.
The semi-truck driver was transported to a local hospital and was reported to be in stable condition.
Both vehicles came to rest off the north side of Palmdale Road. The highway was closed in both directions between Richardson Road/White Road and Aster Road during the investigation.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Major Accident Investigation Team continues to investigate the fatal collision.
