According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the incident occurred around 5:03 a.m. at 959 W. Manchester Ave., where both vehicles had careened toward a building under construction.

Each vehicle had a single occupant described as a man between 30 and 45 years old. Firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene and found both drivers trapped within their vehicles, requiring extensive extrication efforts. Both motorists were pronounced dead at the scene.
