[08-16-2026] Sonoma County, CA – Driver Killed, Teen Injured in Rollover Crash South of Santa Rosa.webpA driver was killed, and a 16-year-old passenger suffered moderate injuries in a crash south of Santa Rosa on Sunday evening, August 16, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Santa Rosa Area, the crash was reported shortly before 8 p.m. on Brooks Road, south of East Robles Avenue.

CHP investigators said an adult man was driving a Pontiac sedan southbound on Brooks Road at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the vehicle and struck a redwood tree. The Pontiac overturned and sustained major rollover damage.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not released his identity pending notification of next of kin.

A 16-year-old boy who was riding as a passenger sustained moderate injuries and was transported to Providence Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for treatment.

The investigation remains ongoing.
