[08-16-2024] Woman Killed, Another Injured After Three-Vehicle DUI Crash in Santa RosaA woman was killed, and another person was injured following a three-vehicle crash in Santa Rosa on Friday afternoon, August 16, 2024.

The Santa Rosa Police Department reported receiving calls about a “major” crash involving a Honda, a silver Dodge pickup truck, and a white Prius at the intersection of Lombardi Court and Sebastopol Road around 1:30 p.m.

Responding officers found a woman trapped in her Honda. Firefighters extricated her, but she was unconscious. She was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced dead. The woman was identified as 31-year-old Jessica M., a juvenile corrections counselor at the County of Sonoma Juvenile Hall.

The driver of the Dodge pickup truck, who was also injured, was taken to the hospital for treatment. The driver of the Prius was not injured and remained at the scene.

According to the SRPD, witness statements and video evidence indicate that the Dodge pickup ran a red light before colliding with the Honda, which was turning left from Lombardi Court. The impact caused the Honda to strike the Prius after the initial collision.

The suspect, who allegedly ran a red light, has been charged with his fifth DUI following the crash.
