[08-16-2024] 34-Year-Old Pedestrian Killed After Hit-And-Run Collision in Thousand PalmsA 34-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed after a hit-and-run collision in Thousand Palms, Riverside County, on early Friday morning, August 16, 2024. 

The incident occurred shortly after midnight at the intersection of Ramon Road and Thelma Avenue. Paramedics responded to reports of a man lying on the road and pronounced the pedestrian identified as Oscar M. dead at the scene at 12:30 a.m.

The driver who struck the pedestrian fled the scene before authorities arrived. As of 2:30 p.m. on Friday, California Highway Patrol officers were still searching for the driver.

The CHP is currently investigating the incident.
