[08-14-2024] Rider Killed Following Fiery Motorcycle Vs. Vehicle Collision in IndioA rider was killed following a fiery motorcycle vs. vehicle collision in Indio on Wednesday morning, August 14, 2024.

According to the Riverside County Fire Department, the crash occurred around 8:24 a.m. in the 81200 block of Avenue 48.

Firefighters arrived at the scene to put out the fire. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead shortly after. The victim’s name has not been released, and no injuries were reported for the vehicle driver involved in the crash.

The CHP has not yet released any information on the cause of the collision. It is not immediately known if alcohol, drugs, or speeding were involved.

Authorities issued a notice about road closures around the crash site as they continued investigating the incident.

The Indio Police Department has since taken over the investigation.
