[08-13-2026] Alameda County, CA – E-Scooter Rider Injured in Pickup Truck Crash Near UC Berkeley.webpA 23-year-old woman riding an e-scooter was injured after being struck by a pickup truck near UC Berkeley on Thursday afternoon, August 13, 2026.

According to Berkeley police, the collision occurred shortly before 5:15 p.m. at Walnut Street and Hearst Avenue, just northwest of the UC Berkeley campus.

Police said the woman was riding southbound on Walnut Street when an eastbound pickup truck struck her in the intersection at Hearst Avenue.

The rider sustained a leg injury and was transported to Highland Hospital in Oakland for further evaluation. Reports indicating that her leg may have been broken were not officially confirmed.
