[08-12-2026] Riverside County, CA – 15-Year-Old E-Bike Rider Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash in Menifee

A 15-year-old boy riding an electric motorbike was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Menifee on Wednesday evening, August 12, 2026.

According to the Menifee Police Department, the collision occurred shortly after 8 p.m. near Briggs and Garbani roads. Police said the teenager was riding an off-road electric motocross-style bike southbound on Briggs Road when he was struck.

Witnesses reported seeing a white vehicle traveling southbound on Briggs Road, dragging a bicycle beneath its front end. Police said the bike eventually became dislodged, but the driver continued southbound without stopping.

The teenager was found on Briggs Road, just north of Garbani Road, with a severe head injury. Cal Fire and Riverside County Fire Department paramedics responded and pronounced him dead at the scene. Authorities have not released his identity.

Police described the suspected vehicle as a white SUV-type vehicle, possibly a minivan, that may have damage to the front bumper and passenger-side headlight.

The Menifee Police Department continues to investigate the fatal hit-and-run crash.
