[08-12-2025] One Killed, One Critically Injured in DUI Crash on Old Woman Springs RoadOne person was killed and another was critically injured in a DUI-related crash on Old Woman Springs Road in San Bernardino County on Tuesday afternoon, August 12, 2025.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. south of La Brisa Drive, where a flatbed truck and a Chevrolet pickup with a trailer were parked on the southbound shoulder. Both drivers were standing outside their vehicles.

Authorities said 41-year-old Lucy B. of Yucca Valley was driving a Toyota southbound when she made an unsafe turn onto the shoulder, striking both men and both trucks.

One of the men, identified as 41-year-old Detrick K. of Yucca Valley, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The other, 26-year-old William A., was transported to Hi Desert Medical Center and later airlifted to Desert Regional Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition.

Lucy was arrested on suspicion of DUI, causing bodily injury, and vehicular manslaughter and booked into the West Valley Detention Center on $250,000 bail.

The investigation is ongoing.
