A male teenager was critically injured in a serious e-bike vs. vehicle crash in Santa Ana on Monday evening, August 12, 2024.

According to the Santa Ana Police Department, the incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. near Oak Street and McFadden Avenue, according to the Santa Ana Police Department.

Police reported that the teen was riding an e-bike or makeshift motorcycle when he collided with an unspecified car. The exact circumstances of the incident remain unclear. 

Medical responders rushed the injured teenager to a nearby hospital, where he is currently in critical condition. The driver of the car involved in the collision remained at the scene and is cooperating with the ongoing police investigation. Neither of the two people involved were named yet.

Authorities have closed the streets near the crash site, and they are expected to remain closed for several hours as the investigation continues.
