A 47-year-old woman was killed, and another person was hospitalized following a motorcycle vs. vehicle crash in Montebello on Sunday evening, August 11, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 8:27 p.m. on the eastbound Pomona Freeway just west of the Garfield Avenue off-ramp.
A witness stated that the crash involved a car and a motorcycle, with the motorcyclist found down in the middle lanes. Emergency responders arrived promptly, but one individual was pronounced dead at the scene shortly before 9:00 p.m.
The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner later identified the deceased as Claudia B. Officials said the second person involved, who sustained a major injury, was transported to a nearby hospital by ambulance.
