An adult was killed and two others were injured following an ATV crash in northeast Bakersfield on Sunday night, August 10, 2025.
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, officers responded just after 8 p.m. to fields south of the 11000 block of Highway 178.
When they arrived, fire crews were extinguishing flames from an ATV that had crashed, igniting surrounding dry grass.
Police said the adult victim died at the scene. Two others, who had been ejected from the ATV, sustained minor-to-moderate injuries and were transported to Kern Medical.
The incident remains under investigation.
