According to the Newport Beach Police Department, the accident occurred late in the evening on Pacific Coast Highway. 

Newport Beach firefighters responded swiftly, executing a complex over-the-cliff rescue to save the vehicle’s occupants.

Authorities reported that both the driver and passengers were able to self-extricate from the vehicle after the crash. They were transported to local hospitals with minor injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. It is currently unclear whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the incident. No further details were immediately available.
