Two people were injured, including a child, after a single-vehicle crash in Imperial County on Saturday morning, August 10, 2024.

According to the responding officials, the accident occurred around 8:45 a.m. on State Route 78 near Ogilby Road.

A northbound car on SR-78 apparently lost control and veered off the road. Both the driver and the child passenger were injured. The child suffered serious injuries and was transported to a nearby Ranger Station.

The young victim was then airlifted by REACH Air Ambulance to Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego for treatment.

The current condition of the driver was also undisclosed. Neither of the two people involved were identified yet.

No further details were released, and authorities are gathering all the necessary information to determine the factors leading to the incident.
