[08-09-2026] Los Angeles County, CA – Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Crash Involving Suspected DUI Driver in Santa Clarita (1).webpA motorcyclist suffered major injuries in a collision involving a suspected impaired driver in Santa Clarita on Sunday evening, August 9, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol Newhall-area Office, the crash was reported at around 7:43 p.m. on Vasquez Canyon Road, south of Bouquet Canyon Road. Officers located a white minivan and a gray motorcycle at the scene.

CHP said officers contacted the 73-year-old Santa Clarita man driving the minivan and observed signs and symptoms of impairment. Following an investigation, the man was arrested on suspicion of DUI causing injury.

The motorcyclist sustained major injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Additional information about the rider’s condition was not immediately available.

The CHP continues to investigate the crash.
