[08-09-2024] Man Killed After Suspected DUI Collision in IrvineA man was killed after a suspected DUI collision in Irvine early Friday morning, August 9, 2024.

According to the Irvine Police Department, the incident occurred around 12:43 a.m. along Jamboree Road, north of Barranca Parkway.

A 2017 Lexus sedan traveling northbound on Jamboree Road struck the man, who was sitting in the lanes at the time. The Lexus driver immediately stopped and cooperated with the investigation.

Emergency personnel from the Orange County Fire Authority responded to the scene and determined that the pedestrian had died from his injuries. The name of the deceased man has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

Detectives are investigating the possibility that drugs or alcohol may have been a factor in this collision. IPD’s Major Accident Investigation Team is leading the investigation.
