A motorcyclist was killed, and two others were injured after a motorcycle vs. vehicle crash in Gilroy on Thursday evening, August 8, 2024.
According to the Gilroy Police Department, the fatal accident occurred around 6:45 p.m. at the intersection of Gavilan Court and Murray Avenue.
First responders arrived at the scene and found the motorcyclist lying on the road with life-threatening injuries. Despite lifesaving efforts by both officers and firefighters, the motorcyclist unfortunately succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The car involved in the crash had both a driver and a passenger who were also injured. They were transported to nearby hospitals with injuries ranging from minor to major.
The identity of the deceased motorcyclist has not been released, pending notification of next of kin by the Coroner’s office.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
