Two teenagers were injured, and a horse was killed after a car crash in Compton on Thursday evening, August 8, 2024.
According to the responding officials, the accident occurred at the intersection of Alondra Boulevard and Oleander Avenue.
Initial reports suggested that five people were riding horses when they were hit by an unspecified car from behind, sending two teenagers and a four-year-old horse into the air.
The two injured teens were said to be friends, with one of them identified as Pedro V. Both are expected to recover fully, said the authorities.
Meanwhile, Pedro V.’s horse, named Everucho, unfortunately, passed away as a result of the incident.
The driver involved in the crash reportedly attempted to flee the scene, but the other horse riders blocked his car until the police arrived. It remains unclear if the driver will face charges.
