[08-07-2024] Riverside County, CA – Two People Injured Following Single-Vehicle Rollover Crash Along Highway 371 in Lake Riverside

Two people were injured following a single-vehicle rollover crash in Lake Riverside, Riverside County, on Wednesday afternoon, August 7, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at about 1:58 p.m. on the eastbound side of Highway 371 at Lake Riverside Drive.

CHP reported that the accident involved an unspecified sedan occupied by two people. The circumstances leading to the sedan overturning alongside the two-lane road were still unclear.

Riverside County Fire Department engine crew and paramedic squad arrived shortly after 2 p.m. Upon arrival, they found one of the two occupants standing next to the vehicle with minor injuries. Despite being offered medical treatment, the individual declined.

The driver, who also remained unidentified, suffered major injuries. It is not immediately known if they were extricated from the crashed vehicle. A Reach Air ambulance was called to transport the driver to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar for further medical care.

The highway was partially reopened at 2:40 p.m. as CHP officers continued investigating the cause of the crash.

Drugs, alcohol, and speeding are currently being looked at as possible factors in the accident. No further information was provided.
