A man was killed after a pedestrian vs. vehicle collision in Bakersfield on Monday morning, August 5, 2024.
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the crash happened around 5:12 a.m. at the intersection of East Brundage Lane and Quantico Avenue.
Police said that the pedestrian, identified only as a man, was walking southbound outside of a crosswalk when, for unknown reasons, he was struck by a white pickup truck traveling westbound on East Brundage Lane. The victim suffered severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the white pickup stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Unsafe speed and intoxication do not appear to be contributing factors, according to police
BPD’s investigation is underway.
