Two passengers were injured after a transit bus vs. vehicle head-on collision in Arden-Arcade, Sacramento County, on Sunday afternoon, August 4, 2024.

According to the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District, the incident occurred at about 3:06 p.m. at Northrop Avenue and Fulton Avenue.

Preliminary investigation indicated that a Sacramento Regional Transit bus was traveling along Northrop Avenue when another vehicle traveling in the opposite direction collided with it head-on. This resulted in injuries for some of the passengers and moderate damage to the bus.

Two passengers were confirmed to be injured, with one being taken to the hospital for further medical care. The identity and the current condition of the two victims were not disclosed. It is said that the injured passengers did not show visible injuries immediately following the incident, while the two people in the car were not hurt.

The authorities have not disclosed any other information, including what caused the crash and the total number of people onboard the bus when it occurred.
