At least one passenger was injured following a multi-vehicle hit-and-run collision in Coachella on Sunday night, August 4, 2024.

According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened just before 8:00 p.m. at the intersection of 48th Avenue and Calhoun Street.

A preliminary investigation suggested that at least two vehicles had been involved in the crash. One of the drivers allegedly fled the scene before the authorities could arrive, rendering the incident a hit-and-run.

The number of people affected was not disclosed, but at least one passenger was confirmed to be injured and was taken to a nearby hospital. The patient’s name, age, and current condition were not provided. No other injuries were reported at this time.
