A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle in Lake Elsinore on Friday night, August 2, 2024.
According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, the pedestrian vs. vehicle collision happened around 9:40 p.m. at the intersection of Lakeshore Drive and Bushman Avenue.
Upon arrival, responders found the victim lying in the roadway unresponsive. Medical personnel quickly administered life-saving measures to the victim, who was later declared dead after succumbing to their injuries.
Further information about the victim’s identity was being withheld pending notification of next of kin. The extent of the injuries they sustained was also undisclosed.
The driver of the unspecified vehicle that struck the victim reportedly stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigators. No word yet on whether the driver was injured.
Authorities are still investigating the circumstances of the incident. Drugs and alcohol have since been ruled out as possible factors in the crash.
