A person was killed in a two-vehicle collision involving a suspected DUI driver in Oroville East, Butte County, on Wednesday night, July 30, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 7:17 p.m. on Highway 162 near the intersection with Old Olive Highway.
A pickup truck traveling eastbound crossed into the westbound lanes and struck another vehicle.
The driver of the westbound vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the pickup was taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence.
Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
