A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle in Los Angeles County early Tuesday morning, July 30, 2024. 

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal crash happened shortly after 2:30 a.m. on the westbound 10 Freeway at 4th Street.

Authorities stated that a pedestrian, whose name, age, and gender were not revealed, suffered major injuries after being struck by an unspecified vehicle. The victim was later pronounced dead at the scene. There is no word yet on what the victim was doing at the time of the crash. 

Details on how the collision occurred were not immediately available. It is unclear if drugs, alcohol, or speeding played a role. 

Further information regarding the incident has yet to be released by the investigators. Police work is underway.
