[07-28-2026] Glenn County, CA – Car Crashed Into Walnut Orchard Near Codora.webpTwo people avoided serious injuries after a single-vehicle crash near the community of Codora, Butte County, on Tuesday afternoon, July 28, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 3:09 p.m. on southbound State Route 45, south of State Route 162. 

A 22-year-old Upper Lake man was driving a 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser with a 44-year-old Upper Lake woman as his passenger when the vehicle veered onto the gravel shoulder, crossed both lanes of the highway, and entered a walnut orchard. The vehicle then struck and uprooted a walnut tree.

The reason the vehicle left the roadway has not been determined. The investigation is ongoing.
