[07-27-2024] Los Angeles County, CA – Wheelchaired Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck by Vehicle in La Verne

A pedestrian in a wheelchair was killed after being struck by a vehicle in La Verne on early Saturday morning, July 27, 2024. 

According to the La Verne Police Department, the crash happened just after 12:30 a.m. at Foothill Boulevard and D Street. 

Authorities stated that a female pedestrian, who was in a wheelchair, sustained major injuries after getting hit by a vehicle. She was found unresponsive on the road and was later pronounced dead at the scene. There is no word yet on her name, age, and place of origin. 

Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle that struck the pedestrian remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. 

It is unknown what caused the crash, but driver impairment does not appear to have been a factor. 

More information regarding the incident has yet to be disclosed by the authorities.
