At least one person was injured after a suspected two-vehicle DUI crash involving a teenager in Bakersfield late Thursday night, July 25, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at about 11:30 p.m. on Norris Road, just west of Crestwood Street.
The incident involved a gray Toyota Camry and a black Ram pickup truck. It is still unclear how the two vehicles came into contact with one another, but CHP suspects that DUI is involved.
The Toyota had four occupants when the accident occurred: a 17-year-old female driver and three passengers. CHP used a DUI breath test kit to identify the alcohol level of the teenage driver. She was arrested right after.
Further information about the occupants of the Ram was not immediately available.
Officers reported that at least one of the people involved suffered major injuries as a result of the collision. The identity of the injured person and in which vehicle they were at the time of the accident remain undisclosed.
CHP’s investigation into the crash is ongoing.
