A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a hit-and-run vehicle in Montebello on Tuesday night, July 23, 2024.
According to the responding officials, the fatal crash happened shortly before 10:00 p.m. in the area of Whittier Boulevard and Garfield Avenue.
Authorities stated that a pedestrian, whose name, age, and gender were not disclosed, suffered major injuries after being struck by a vehicle. The victim was found on Whittier, west of Concourse Avenue, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle that struck the pedestrian fled the scene and refused to call for help. There is no word yet on the identity of the driver, as well as on the description of the suspect vehicle. The hit-and-run driver remains at large.
