A 99-year-old woman was killed after being struck by a vehicle while walking near the College East neighborhood of San Diego on Tuesday morning, July 21, 2026.
According to the San Diego Police Department, the incident occurred around 8 a.m. on Cleo Street.
Authorities said the woman was walking eastbound when she was struck by a westbound silver 2022 Chevrolet Equinox driven by a 49-year-old woman.
The pedestrian suffered multiple fractures to both arms and a lower leg. She was transported to a hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
Police reported that driving under the influence was not a factor in the crash.
The investigation remains ongoing.
