A pedestrian was possibly injured after being struck by a vehicle in North Auburn, Placer County, early Friday morning, July 19, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian vs. vehicle collision occurred around 5:06 a.m. at the Grass Valley Highway and Dry Creek Road intersection.

The circumstances surrounding the crash remain unclear, including the make or model of the vehicle involved and the number of its occupants. CHP reported that the pedestrian, whose name, age, and gender were not available at this time, possibly sustained a minor injury. Their current condition was not disclosed.

It is still unclear what the victim was doing along the roadway before the accident. There is also no word yet confirming whether or not the driver remained at the scene or suffered an injury as well.

Drugs, alcohol, and speeding are currently being investigated as possible factors in the crash.
