A 15-year-old pedestrian was critically injured after being struck by a car near Sunnyside High School in Fresno on Friday evening, July 17, 2026.
According to Fresno Police, the incident occurred just before 6 p.m. at an intersection on Peach Avenue.
Authorities reported that the car was traveling northbound with a green light when the teen, traveling eastbound along the south side of the intersection, entered the crosswalk against a red light and was struck.
The teen, described as a Sunnyside High School football player on his way to practice, was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
The investigation remains ongoing.
