According to authorities, the incident was reported just after 6:30 p.m. in the area of Hermosa Drive and Vista Chino.

Police reported that an 80-year-old woman from Palm Springs suffered major injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Investigators said the vehicle involved fled the scene before officers arrived. Witnesses described the suspect vehicle as a white Ford F-150, possibly a 2000 model, driven by a Hispanic man in his 60s with a scruffy white beard. The driver reportedly stopped briefly before leaving the scene.

The Palm Springs Police Department and Crime Stoppers are seeking information, including surveillance or dash camera footage, from the area at the time of the incident.
