[07-15-2026] Mariposa County, CA – Woman Seriously Injured in Head-On Crash on Highway 140.webpA Catheys Valley woman suffered major injuries after a head-on crash on Highway 140 in Mariposa County on Wednesday morning, July 15, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred around 8:08 a.m. on Highway 140 west of Highway 49.

Investigators said a 2019 GMC Yukon traveling eastbound crossed into the westbound lane near Miller Road, where it collided with a westbound motor home.

Authorities said the motor home driver attempted to avoid the crash by steering onto a raised curb but was unable to prevent the head-on collision.

The 44-year-old Yukon driver sustained major injuries and was airlifted to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto. The motor home driver and passenger suffered minor injuries but declined medical treatment.

CHP reported that seat belts appeared to have been used by both drivers, while the motor home passenger was not wearing one. It is unknown whether alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.

The CHP continues to investigate the collision.
