One person was killed, and another was injured following a big rig vs. vehicle head-on collision in Turlock on Monday afternoon, July 15, 2024. 

According to the Turlock Police Department, the major crash occurred at around 12:13 p.m. on Lander Avenue and East Glenwood Avenue.

Authorities stated that a big rig collided head-on with a sedan along Lander Avenue, resulting in injuries and a fatality. A woman in the sedan was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the big rig sustained minor injuries. As of this writing, no other injuries were reported. 

It was unclear what caused the collision, but the investigators are gathering all the necessary evidence to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash. Drugs, alcohol, and speeding are being investigated as possible factors in the incident. 

Further details have yet to be released by the police.
