[07-14-2024] San Bernardino County, CA – Driver Killed, Passenger Possibly Injured After Off-Road Vehicle Collision at Reeves Dry Lake Bed

A driver was killed, and a passenger was possibly injured after an off-road vehicle collision in San Bernardino County on Sunday morning, July 14, 2024. 

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 4:10 a.m. at Reeves Dry Lake Bed. 

Authorities stated that an Apple Valley man was driving an off-road vehicle when it overturned while he was performing donuts. The vehicle landed on him, resulting in a fatality. 

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, while his sister, who was also in the vehicle, remained responsive after the incident. Whether or not the female passenger sustained injuries has yet to be confirmed by the authorities. 

Police identified the victim as 33-year-old Angel R. It is unknown if drugs, alcohol, or speeding played a role. 

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. 

Witnesses are asked to contact CHP and share what they know about the incident.
