[07-12-2024] Woman Killed Following Pedestrian Vs. Motorcycle Collision Along Sierra Vista AvenueA woman was killed following a pedestrian vs. motorcycle collision in Fresno on Friday night, July 12, 2024. 

According to the Fresno Police Department, the crash occurred around 9:00 p.m. on Shields and Sierra Vista avenues. 

Authorities stated that a woman in her 40s was struck by a motorcycle traveling northbound on Sierra Vista Avenue. She sustained critical injuries and was transported to the hospital, where she died. It is unknown what the victim was doing on the roadway before the fatal collision. 

The rider of the motorcycle, identified as a man in his 30s, sustained a fracture in his right arm following the crash. He remained cooperative with the investigation and was later transported to the hospital for further medical care.

There is no word yet on the official cause of the collision. The police are investigating whether drugs, alcohol, or speeding played a role.
