A rider was killed after a motorcycle vs. vehicle collision in south San Jose on Thursday afternoon, July 11, 2024.
According to the responding officials, the deadly crash happened at about 4:00 p.m. in the area of Winfield Boulevard and Furlong Drive.
Authorities stated that a rider, whose name, age, and gender were not immediately known, was traveling at an unknown speed when his motorcycle collided with a vehicle. The motorcyclist sustained major injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of the crash is unknown at this time. It is unclear whether drugs, alcohol, or speeding played a role in the incident.
Traffic delays were expected on Winfield Boulevard between Blossom Hill Road and Coleman Road, so motorists were advised to avoid the area.
