A man was killed following a pedestrian vs. vehicle DUI collision in Lodi on Thursday night, July 11, 2024.
According to the responding officials, the crash happened around 9:40 p.m. at the intersection of Cherokee Lane and Elm Street.
Authorities stated that a pedestrian, described only as a man, sustained major injuries after he was struck by a vehicle. He was rushed to the hospital for immediate medical treatment, but he later died due to the severity of his injuries. The man’s name, age, and place of origin were not disclosed as of this writing.
Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle, identified as 49-year-old Lucas R., remained at the scene and was found to be under the influence at the time of the crash. He was booked into jail for DUI, vehicular manslaughter, and other felony-related charges.
The fatal collision is still under investigation. The police are gathering all the necessary information to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
