[07-11-2024] One Person Hospitalized, Others Injured Following Pursuit Led To Reckless Two-Vehicle Collision in Fountain ValleyOne person was hospitalized, and others were injured following a pursuit that led to a reckless two-vehicle collision in Fountain Valley on Thursday afternoon, July 11, 2024. 

According to the Westminster Police Department, the crash happened shortly after 12:09 p.m. near Bushard Street and Heil Avenue. 

Authorities stated that they had received a report regarding a suspected burglary crew that was preparing to burglarize a residence in Westminster. After confirming the information, the police tailed the suspect vehicle to the southbound San Diego (405) Freeway and Beach Boulevard. 

The vehicle carrying the four suspects reportedly failed to yield at a traffic stop, initiating a pursuit. The chase then ended when the suspect vehicle collided with another vehicle near Bushard Street and Heil Avenue. 

Officials reported that the four burglary suspects were apprehended at the location with the aid of multiple detectives and air support from the Anaheim Police Department. 

The other motorist involved in the collision was transported to the hospital for possible injuries. Their name, age, and gender have not been released yet. Meanwhile, all suspects suffered minor injuries and were transported to the hospital. 

The suspects were later arrested and booked into the Orange County Jail on suspicion of residential burglary, felony evading, conspiracy to commit a crime, and possession of burglary tools and stolen property. 

Investigators are examining several items found in the suspect vehicle and searching for any additional victims. Drugs and alcohol were also being investigated as possible factors in the crash.
