According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision was reported around 3:52 p.m. about halfway up the grade. 

CHP traffic logs indicated that both vehicles were in the No. 1 lane by 4:04 p.m., and one person was out of their vehicle picking up debris from the roadway.

By 4:11 p.m., the CHP reported that the roadway was cleared, though traffic remained slow in the area.

The investigation remains ongoing.
