A male rider was injured following a bicycle vs. vehicle collision in North Highlands, Sacramento County, on Monday morning, July 8, 2024. 

According to the responding officers, the crash happened around 7:56 a.m. at Kirby Way and Walerga Road. 

Authorities stated that a male teenager, who was riding a bike, was struck by a vehicle that was moving at around 15 miles per hour. Emergency medical services were dispatched to the scene and transported the teen to a nearby hospital. Reports showed that the boy suffered mild to moderate injuries, but his current condition was not disclosed.

The rider was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, police said. No information was available on the driver’s identity or the make and model of the vehicle. 

The authorities are gathering all the necessary evidence to determine the factors leading up to the crash. More information will be released as the investigation progresses.
