A 67-year-old bicyclist, identified as David U., suffered major injuries after colliding with a pickup truck in Hesperia on Tuesday morning, July 7, 2026.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Station, the collision occurred around 9:36 a.m. near the intersection of C Avenue and Main Street.
Authorities said the bicyclist was riding eastbound in the No. 2 lane when he attempted to merge into the adjacent lane occupied by a black Dodge Ram 3500 driven by 84-year-old Michael W. of Apple Valley. The cyclist sideswiped the truck’s rear passenger-side quarter panel, causing him to sustain a large laceration to his head.
Emergency personnel transported the bicyclist to Hesperia Airport, where he was airlifted by Mercy Air to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center for further treatment. CHP and deputies reported that drugs and alcohol are not suspected as factors in the crash.
The investigation remains ongoing.
What A Lawyer Can Do For You
Many victims put off calling a lawyer even if they sustain injuries after an accident. However, lawyers can help you in many ways. They can provide you with police reports, CCTV footage, and witness statements to strengthen your case. Your attorney will also negotiate with insurance companies to get you fair compensation. The best part is that they will do all of these things for you at no upfront cost. So if you’re injured in an accident, hire a personal injury attorney to recover medical bills, car repair costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
