[07-06-2025] Pedestrian Killed by Suspected DUI Driver at Atlanta Avenue and Delaware Street in Huntington BeachA 35-year-old man was killed after being struck by a suspected impaired driver in Huntington Beach early Sunday morning, July 6, 2025.

According to the Huntington Beach Police Department, the collision occurred around 12:45 a.m. at the intersection of Atlanta Avenue and Delaware Street, just west of Beach Boulevard.

Police said a black Audi RS5 was traveling eastbound on Atlanta Avenue when it struck the pedestrian east of Delaware Street.

Officers arrived to find the driver, a 21-year-old man from Orange, uninjured and still at the scene. The pedestrian, a Huntington Beach resident, was found unconscious in the roadway.

Paramedics responded, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Impairment is suspected on the part of the Audi driver, who was taken into custody without incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
