[07-05-2026] El Dorado County, CA – Driver Arrested After DUI Crash Kills Woman on Fairplay Rd_.webpA man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after a rollover crash in El Dorado County that killed a woman on Sunday evening, July 5, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol’s Placerville Division, the crash was reported around 5:20 p.m. on Fairplay Road, north of Stoney Creek Road.

Authorities said officers responded to reports of an overturned vehicle and found a 1959 MG coupe overturned at the scene.

The driver, identified as 61-year-old David D. of Fiddletown, was taken into custody and booked into the El Dorado County Jail on suspicion of felony DUI and vehicular manslaughter.

The identity of the woman who died has not been released. The CHP continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
