[07-04-2024] Los Angeles County, CA – One Person Killed, Two Others Injured Following Two-Vehicle Collision in Malibu

One person was killed, while two others were injured following a two-vehicle collision in Malibu on Thursday night, July 4, 2024.

According to the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station, the fatal crash happened shortly after 11:00 p.m. in the 22000 block of Pacific Coast Highway west of Carbon Canyon.

When authorities arrived, they found a white sedan with significant damage on its front side in the middle of the highway and another badly damaged black SUV off to the side. The circumstances behind the violent two-car incident remain unclear, but it was described as a head-on crash.

The driver of one of the vehicles involved was pronounced dead at the scene by the responding medical crew. Meanwhile, two others were rushed to the hospital after sustaining non-life-threatening injuries. None of the people involved were publicly identified yet.

A precautionary closure was ordered on all lanes of the Pacific Coast Highway west of Carbon Canyon.

The cause of the deadly vehicular accident is still under investigation. Authorities will provide further information as it becomes available.
