[07-03-2024] San Diego County, CA – 63-Year-Old Driver Killed Following Two-Vehicle Head-On Crash in Ramona

A 63-year-old driver was killed following a two-vehicle head-on crash in Ramona, San Diego County, on Wednesday afternoon, July 3, 2024. 

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal collision happened at about 3:30 p.m. along State Route 78.

Authorities stated that a Chevrolet S-10, driven by a 63-year-old man from Ramona, was traveling west on the freeway when it veered to the left and collided head-on with an oncoming Isuzu box truck. The man sustained critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, the driver of the Isuzu, a 46-year-old man from El Cajon, did not sustain any injuries following the collision. As of this writing, it is unknown what caused the crash, but intoxication did not appear to be a factor in the incident. 

The identity of the deceased was withheld pending the notification of the family. Witnesses are encouraged to come forward and cooperate with the investigation.
